Project Highlights

Design-Build & Engineering

  • Engineered drawings developed from Electrical Engineer
  • Engineered switchgear and generator pad drawings from Structural Engineer
  • Complete coordination study and arc flash analysis

Demolition & Removal

  • Removed three outdated generators
  • Removed 50-year-old paralleling gear (housed in the Titanic wheelhouse)

New Installation

  • Installed 3000-amp Service Rated Transfer Switch
  • Installed 3000-amp Switchgear
  • Replaced three generators with a new 500KW generator, designed for future paralleling capacity
  • Implemented load bank testing and a remote monitoring system

Safety & Continuity

  • Four-day installation completed with crews working around the clock
  • Temporary UPS and pull-behind generator safely backed up the IDF room
  • No disruptions or glitches to critical systems during the transition
