Job Summary
The role of the apprentice electrician is to support Journeyman Electricians in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical systems. Apprentice will trench, pull wire, and bend conduit. $15.00-18.00 per hour.
Functions
Assists in pulling wire, lifting, and positioning materials.
Installs, repairs, or replaces generators, and industrial storage batteries.
Perform preventative maintenance and testing of electrical systems
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Assists in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
Complies with company standards and procedures, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules.
Tests electrical and equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
Assists in securing, relocating, and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas
Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor
An apprentice electrician will not work on energized circuits or equipment.
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Bend and twist body
Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
Skills
Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g., hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
Regular punctual, reliable, and predictable attendance
Comfortable making decisions independently
Ability to follow instructions
Must possess a TDLR issued apprentice electrical license. (2 to 3 years)
Must be able to successfully pass a background test and drug test
Must have valid driver’s license
