Job Summary
Superintendent will work to support the Senior Superintendent by managing labor, materials, and production of the project. The Superintendent provides technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment. Superintendent will assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
Responsibilities/ Physical Demands
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
- Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- While performing essential functions of the Superintendent will:
- Bend and twist body
- Repeat same movements
- Stand for long periods of time
- Crouch/ crawl
- Climb ladders, Scaffolds or poles
- Lift up to 50 pounds
Expectations
- Superintendent must be the first one on the job site and the last one to leave job site.
- Must be always on the job site unless he is in a project meeting a job walk or in a meeting at the shop with management.
- Must be performing daily safety meetings with all employees on the job site. And ensure that employees are performing daily JHA
- Should Coordinate and Communicate SOW with lead and helpers to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Should be performing weekly safety audit.
- Should be commissioning all work that is complete or assigned the task to a competent individual.
- Must ensure that the project gets completed right the first time.
- Must be willing to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.
- Must be patient and understanding and take constructive criticism.
Skills
- Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and measured manner
Requirements
- Possess valid driver’s License
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle record
- Current Texas State issued Journeyman Electrician’s License
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
- Minimum of 2- 4 years of experience in the commercial field
- Exceptional understanding of the electrical industry
- Knowledge of electrical calculations
